METHODOLOGY FOR BASE LINE SURVEY
A systematic survey was conducted among farmers and industries using a pre-tested interview schedule as per the NAIP guide lines. The interview schedules designed and used are appended in the annexure VIII. In total, 125 farmers representing 10 cluster taluks of 5 districts as outlined in the operational areas were interviewed. Similarly 2 pulp industries and five match industries were interviewed for assessing the base line information on industrial agroforestry. The data on population, land use pattern and other biophysical aspects have been collected from various government sources. The information obtained are tabulated and presented as tables wherever it is found to be essential in the appropriate chapters.
